Development status of coal mining in China

Coal mining in China is facing the transition from output to quality. Based on total capacity and average production, current situation of coal at mine, city, province levels analysed, data support for layout sustainable development optimization provided. The results show that 87% China's mined by underground methods, with an production 0.93 Mt/a per mine. Open pit accounts 13%, mine 5.73 Mt/a. mines 1.05 Mt/a, 1181 less than 0.3 accounting 35% but contributing only 4.51% output.
